Simon Calder hosts a breakfast seminar for travel and risk managers in London

According to a new study published by WPI Economics, nearly three quarters of UK business leaders expect their companies to recommence air travel in the next two years. Businesses from across the region believe air travel will strengthen their future growth prospects, while also citing loss of clients or contracts as a major concern of not flying.

Traversing tricky travel management policies

In light of this corporate travel managers are looking to reassess travel policies – from cracking down on approval processes to tracking employee journey progress – to ensure employees feel safe when travelling.

Whether it is carrying out safety and security checks on hotels and serviced accommodation or building a thorough risk profile of a given destination, mapping out comprehensive travel risk management policies and procedures is one of the most important considerations for successful corporate travel.

Industry-leading advice

Corporate travel and risk managers often have to face these issues alone, without access to a sounding board to compare policies and discuss best practice – something that has been felt during the pandemic especially.

We think the industry is long overdue an opportunity to meet, chat and network in a supportive environment.  We have therefore decided to bring together industry leaders for a face-to-face breakfast meeting in London on 21st September. The event is completely free for travel and risk managers in major corporates.

PwC has kindly offered its iconic offices in the River Thames to host this event.  We have also secured the attendance of leading travel journalist and broadcaster, Simon Calder, who will be present to talk about his career, corporate travel and managing travel risk.

Simon is one the most recognisable faces in the travel industry, having been travel editor at The Independent since 1994. He regularly features as an expert on travel news stories on television and has presented both The Travel Show and Holiday.
